Arcadia
Meet Arcadia, our famous Concordia sloop. She is a custom 69-foot sailboat designed by McCurdy and Rhodes and built in 1989 by the Concordia Company in South Dartmouth, Massachusetts. Commissioned by Robert G. Stone, former Commodore of the New York Yacht Club, Arcadia was purpose-built to win the Newport Bermuda race. Arcadia once sailed under the name Gracie, and she is incredibly unique in that she is an early composite-hulled boat, constructed of fiberglass with a layer of Kevlar and a layer of carbon.
A one-off masterpiece, Arcadia has proven herself a champion offshore, most notably taking first in class in the 2012 Newport to Bermuda Race under her former name.
Today, Arcadia is lovingly maintained by The Stirling Harbor Foundation, continuing her legacy as a piece of living maritime history. Here she has hosted educational overnight trips for high school students and therapeutic voyages for veterans.
